PostSubject: CONSTITUTION 2016-17   Wed 10 Aug 2016, 1:05 pm

After a summer of very hard work, we are pleased to announce our final constitution. There are a number of changes. As alluded to, we have effectively done away with Division 1 of last season - only one club (Gaunt) remain there from last season, and GT came down from the Prem. Therefore most teams have had a divisional increase to plug the increasing gaps, but we strongly believe this will help the Alliance remain competitive and helps plan for future seasons. As a result we no longer have a Division 8 - too many teams were spread too thinly over too many divisions, and we start the season with 89 clubs. FC Lodge and FC Humberstone - two new sides who joined in the summer - have since resigned.

We also conducted a private ranking system throughout last season which took into account not only where a team finished in a league, but their cup runs and all round performances. The numbers at the end of each club are the unofficial 'ranking' we had them finishing the season on. This made the constitution a lot easier in terms of relevance, and too much importance was given in previous years to a final finishing position in a league table. As 2015-16 was full of giant killings, this method made much more sense. There is no getting away from it - sides are much more equally matched now - there is arguably not much difference in overall terms of quality between divisions 1-3, and 4-7.

Our fixtures secretary James is away until 15 August so fixtures will not be available just yet, but these were worked on (or started) before he went away, so we should feasibly expect some towards the end of next week.

Please remember our pre-season meeting on Tuesday 23 August at Eyres Monsell WMC.

Not sure how the rankings were worked out ...

We finished above Oadby in the league and they are ranked way above us ...

We beat GT 4-0 in the cup and they are ranked above us ...

I guess it means nothing at the end of the day. Glad everything seems to be sorted out and there should be less pot hunting

Well happy with that, Prem is gonna be tasty, can't wait. Glad to see the back of Garter, they will smash division 1 of the leicester league, hope they don't end up in our county cup tho, be typical lol.

I believe all comps are still occurring (within the league) although Arthur Moore may be a straight knock out rather than groups

Typical, hey ho...a prem test coming a year earlier than planned LOL.

Great look constitution here, good work and love the ranking system...could be a good guide elsewhere ;-) (also good idea to add a points system to players signed and combine for a truly watertight solution)

Both Prems look tasty, County COMPS gonna have a blockbuster or 2!

Bare 11 playing today, beat FC Wygston Div 7, 4-2 and they beat us in our first friendly 5-3.
Not aware of any Saturday players playing and today there were 4 players new to our team from last season.

Lol troy buccas played 4 matches in 4 years Jakes played for us in div 7 before and I'd like to now who the other thurmo players are because if your hinting towards Sean daisley yes he has has played some friendlys for us but doesn't now who he wants to play for and isn't registered for us.  we have got some better players in but so has every other team.we still have most of the lads from last year and there getting better and better we took a gamble a few season ago by building a squad of young talented thurmo lads just leaving school mixed with a few good heads (dave ash)its starting to pay dividends now and we asked to go from div 8 to 5\6 and build from there. Only team we smashed was Cossington royal oak and they were 3-1 up at half time and we put six past em 2nd half. we lost 2 seedsbury 1-0 well that was the score when the ref abandoned the match in the 2nd half . I think its going to be a competitive division and I hope we win it would love a good county cup run aswell only time will tell

Noticed Blaby and whetstone old boys originally put in div one now down to div 3 any reason why ? Seems strange as they won our division last year and won a cup we finished behind them along with lakeside and we're in div 2

A number of reasons and very lengthy and notable discussions which we would not comment about on a public forum, suffice to say it is our intention to try and provide all clubs with as competitive a platform as possible to play football. Only in May will we see how many decisions we got right and how many we got wrong
