A step closer to Holmes Park? Or another week blaming refs...? How did your games go...?

Wigston Fields 5-7 Trinderbox

Mark Allen x2 (p)
Callum Marvin
Michael Sweeney
Joe dowsing

A game of 'we will try and score more than you do' this morning. Another very slow and shakey start from Fields as Trinderbox sailed into a 3-0 lead in the first half and were very much on top. There attackers causing all sorts of problems for us. We didn't help ourselves though, as a team we were shocking defensively. We got a lifeline as Michael Sweeney was brought down in the box and Mark Allen converted the penalty. We got a second when Callum Marvins shot from the edge of the areasquirmed past the keeper. It was almost level before the break when Michael Sweneeys looping header was tipped over by the Trinderbox keeper, but it was Trinderbox who went further ahead before half time. 2-4 at the break. Then the goals starting flowing for both teams as the defensive mindset for both teams disappeared. Not sure in what order as I lost count but Trinderbox were always in front. Mark Allen bagged another penalty for fields, Michael Sweeney scored a neat left footed finish from a tight angle and joe Dowsing scored a right footed strike from the edge of the area after some good play. This could have easily ended in double figures for both teams as the defences seemed to go walk about. Plenty of goals for the many spectators from Trinderbox and a deserved victory for some good football and capitalising on our frailties.

Yes I'm blaming the ref - he effectively scored a hat trick for the opposition today Wink

Only joking Mark, thought you had a very good game...

mowmacre 0 birstall stamford 5
not a good experience today worst defeat in over 15 years managing,we started with four regulars missing and a centre mid filling in for a keeper...even first half we had three good chances but stamford took the lead, quickly followed by a poor penalty decision against us.....game over.
not in it second half ran ragged and looking stretched constantly by their wide men, lucky it wasnt 7 or 8 in the end.
creation in a fortnight i might go away for the weekend Embarassed

White Eagles 4-3 Sporting Dynamo

Chris Cooper (2)
Jahdahn Harper
Aleks Trbojevic

Nice to finally chalk up a win which should do our confidence some good considering the beatings we've been taking this season. Really dug deep and did them in extra time after being 2-0 down initially.

horse 4 fc pochin 10
both sides down to the bare bones no subs for either team
it just gets harder to get a team out for sundays
4-0 up and in control at half time, we then made the mistake of thinking we had already won it
and conceded straight after half time there was then a mad 15 mins where we scored 2 and conceded
3 and at 6-4 we were wobbling, luckily we managed to get things together again and made it 7-4 which
finished off the horse comeback
special mention for ross getting 6 in one game
and to mark whait for the best refereeing display we have had for some time

Aths 9 - 1 Willow

4-0 up after 15 mins. Played really well first half and eased off second half but kept the ball really well.

Pretty much the same story as last week but we actually took our chances on Sunday.

The Willow lads kept going till the end and all credit to them, might be a long season for them but they seemed like a well ran side
